Welcome to
6th grade social studies. During our first week we will be working
on Class Beginnings activities. This includes filling out an information card,
going over class expectations and procedures, completing a text book survey and
other relevant activities. As time permits we will be starting our map/globe
unit with a discussion of the five themes of geography and a pre-test.
See the
previous post for supplies needed for this class. If your child is providing
their own supplies, please make sure that they are in school by Tuesday,
September 8. If your child cannot provide supplies, I have folders and
notebooks as well as pencils and supplies for our ISNs.
Thursday
night is Meet the Spartans at 7:00 at the stadium. Friday afternoon is a
district wide pep rally.
Homeroom
students are reminded to return their “first day papers” ASAP.
Reminder,
no school Monday, September 7.
Check here
daily for specific homework each night.
Monday – read page 1; get page 2 signed-due Tuesday 9/1
Tuesday – late page 2; periods 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 - finish page 3 and 4 (as needed) using text book-due Wed 9/2
Wednesday – check book for damaged pages
Thursday – none
Friday – all supplies due Tuesday
